For the last year and a half, the pedestal outside our office has displayed a work by St. Olaf College Professor Emeritus, sculptor, and art historian Mac Gimse. (You can view photos of the installation of this work, “Between Earth and Sky”, and the celebration event afterwards, on ArtOrg’s photostream on Flickr.)
As was recently posted on Locally Grown, last week the Lampe Law Group and ArtOrg announced the Five Sculpture Project.
The five sculptures will be exhibited at the pedestal in front of the Lampe Law Group in downtown Northfield, Minnesota. The projected public unveiling of the project will be in the fall of 2010, and thereafter each sculpture will be on display for a period of ten weeks each, or a total “Five Sculpture” display period of one year.
The Lampe Law Group has long been a supporter of the arts in Northfield. This one way in which in which we honor the work and memory of Pat Lampe and the contributions she and her husband Bob, our firm’s namesake, have made to the Northfield area. Pat was an artist and dedicated community member who was very active here for over half a century.
When the next sculpture in installed, “Between Earth and Sky” will be moved to its permanent home at the Dundas trailhead of the Northfield-to-Dundas section of the Mill Towns Trail, known as “ARTrail”.
The Lampe Law Group is very pleased to continue its support of the arts in the Northfield area.
